Publication of this mammoth work of more than 200 color profiles has been delayed due to the extra work we have put into the art-work. Release date is now early 2009. Along with profiles of the mainstream airplanes which complemented the Fifth's ranks, also profiled will be at least one representation of every type of aircraft which served with the Fifth Air Force, including esoteric types such as the O-47A, L-4 and L-5, F-4 & F-5 Lightnings. UC-64, B-18, Curtis Falcon, A-26, DC-5 and DC-2. Even a Tiger Moth which served with the 49th Fighter Group in Darwin is profiled from a 1942 color slide !
The profiles are all original ones, few having been published before. Monitor our main page to keep track of our estimated publication date. The text will be both technical and historical, outlining the history and development of the multifarious color schemes and heraldry which decorated the Fifth's airplanes. Where appropriate, enlargements of nose-art and other markings are provided.

When published however, these profiles will appear in high resolution, highlighting a high level of detail and color accuracy only available with modern technology.
