In saying this, we acknowledge the finest works on the Fifth, namely: Flying Buccaneers by Steve Birdsall (an overall synopsis of the Fifth's history), Warpath Across the Pacific, and Revenge of the Red Raiders both by Larry Hickey (unit histories of the 345th and 22nd Bombardment Groups).

All our source material is taken from primary sources, including diaries, microfilm records, interviews, field trips, and official documents. Most photos in our books are from private collections, and are published for the first time.
