The tail of 'L'il Rebel' gets carted away to the Dobodura boneyard the day after it crashed on 10th October 1943.

The accident happened when 2/Lt Ralph P. Higgins suffered an engine fire on takeoff. Higgins decelerated the ship before it cracked up, and all the crew fortunately escaped without injury.
