Rough as a Cob had rather explicit nose-art
of a direct kind. This aircrafrt was A-20G-10 serial #42-54096 and served
with the 387th Bombardment Squadron from only briefly from February
thru March 1944 before it was transferred to the 417th Bombardment Group
at Dobodura.
The aircraft was never lost to combat or operations,
and it is probable that it would up in late 1944 serving with the Combat
Replacement Training Centre at Nadzab, like so many other early model
A-20Gs.
The gentleman you see here is Jack McKinney from the
389th Squadron who posed for the shot only because he liked the nose-art
!
