This nose-art is both impressive and descriptive. Its origins lie behind
the common belief towards the end of the war that there would be widespread
unemployment once the war had ended, hence this detailed art-work.
If you look carefully under the panhandler, you will see that the bomber
has been badly dented. This was result of a typhoon which badly damaged
Okinawa in August 1945. It destroyed many aircraft, including Bread
Line in '49.
