The location is Strauss Field in Australia's Northern Territory, and the timeframe is circa April 1942. The pilot in the cockpit is 2/Lt Ben Duke, and the aircraft in which he sits he named 'Scatterbrain'. It had Squadron number 70 painted on its nose.

Duke was killed in this aircraft whilst taking off from Dobodura, New Guinea, on 18th June 1943. At times Scatterbrain was also assigned to 2/Lt Ball.
