Solemnity is in the air on Christmas morning 1942 as B-26 aircrews and their groundcrews attend an open air mass at Laloki Field near Port Moresby. In the year 2004 this old staging area was overgrown with squatter settlements nearby. The old airstrip is still there however, especially the revetment areas at the foot of Mt Lawes, and the nearest building is the Bomana Prison.
