Another Australian aerial shot brought to you by Aerothentic

This RAAF Beaufort bomber was RAAF serial A9-700, and the photo was taken over Sydney, Australia's largest city (but not its capital contrary to popular belief).

A9-700 was the last Beaufort built in Australia, and never catually saw combat service. Behind the aircraft can be seen one of the many wide channels which cjharacterize Sydney Harbour, a popular place for U.S airmen on leave to visit.

The wreckage of a Beaufort still lies on the side of a mountain in the Victorian Alps where it crashed during a training flight from Adelaide to Sale.

In the same area also lies the wreckage of a USAAF Buffalo, assigned to the 4th Air Depot which crashed in bad weather trying to make the RAAF base Wagga Wagga from the Commonwealth Aircraft Factory at Fisherman's Bend near Melbourne.
