Home of the U.S Fifth Air Force in WW2

SERVICES

We offer two distinct types of services.

ONE - Complimentary airplane identification service.

We keep records on thousands of 5th Air Force airplanes, including their markings, serial numbers, and final dispositions. If you have a photo/ photos of a Fifth AF airplane you wish indentified, chances are we can assist. You need to contact us and send as many details as you can about the airplane (or a scanned photo if you are able). If you don't have a photo, then useful information to send includes; assigned unit, noseart, serial number (or any tail markings), when it was lost, name of assigned pilot, and its type. Chances are if you provide key elements of at least some of the above data, we can identify the airplane.

TWO - Provision of MACRs

We are placed to provide Missing Aircrew Reports (MACRs), at the same cost as those provided by the US military, being USD $25. The difference in our case is that we are able to provide them in much shorter timeframe (approximately two weeks), and can usually locate additional pertinent information relevant to the loss, including locations of crash sites (especially those in Papua New Guinea).
